Our NFL week 4 predictions were on fire and we finished at a terrific 10-4. Week 5 looks just as strong as last weekend's slate and we have no doubt that the predictions listed below will be able to duplicate the success we saw previously. There are a number of tough matchups to choose between and you might be shocked at some of the teams we go with.
Record against the point spread: 16-13
Atlanta Falcons -3 at Washington Redskins
The Falcons are undefeated but I saw how much they struggled to stop an explosive offense last weekend against the Panthers. The Redskins win this one outright in a high-scoring affair.
Philadelphia Eagles at Pittsburgh Steelers -3
The Eagles have made numerous mistakes this year and are extremely lucky to be 3-1. Pittsburgh is at home in a must win game and their defensive stars are finally healthy. The Steelers win big here.
Green Bay Packers -7 at Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis has no defense, but the Packers haven't been very strong on that side of the ball either. I think Green Bay wins outright, but only by 4 or 6 points.
Cleveland Browns at New York Giants -9
The Browns have looked decent at times this year but they are still a horrible team that is playing on the road against a talented squad that desperately needs a win. New York takes it by 14 or more.
Tennessee Titans at Minnesota Vikings -5.5
Minnesota has looked great lately and they have one of the top defenses in the NFL, but their offense is not consistent. Look for the Vikings to win by a field goal as the Titans cover the point spread in a low-scoring game.
Miami Dolphins at Cincinnati Bengals -3.5
Miami is a decent team and Cincinnati has shown they have some issues on both sides of the ball. I think we might see an upset in this matchup.
Baltimore Ravens -6 at Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City is a team that plays either incredibly or terribly from week to week, and I don't buy the hype for this upset. Look for the Ravens to name their score.
Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers -3
Carolina makes too many mistakes on offense and their defense doesn't stop anyone. There is no reason to play anyone but the Seahawks in this game.
Chicago Bears -4.5 at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Bears seem to be improving, but they also still have a massive hole on the offensive line. Chicago is on the road against a motivated defense and that should be enough to keep this game close.
Denver Broncos at New England Patriots -6.5
Peyton Manning and his teammates seem to be clicking on offense right now and it's not that tough to score on the Patriots. Look for the Broncos to keep this one closer than the point spread indicates.
Buffalo Bills at San Francisco 49ers -9.5
The Bills will be able to mount almost zero offense and we all know their defense can't stop anyone. I am not a big fan of playing a favorite of this magnitude when the favored team has issues in the red zone, but I can't back Buffalo here.
San Diego Chargers at New Orleans Saints -3.5
The Saints need a win and will be able to get it by a touchdown or more here. The offense is coming around, they are at home, and simply need it more than the Chargers do.
Houston Texans -8.5 at New York Jets
New York looked terrible last time out but is still a decent enough team. They know they are playing for their season here and will put in a max effort while only losing by 3 or 4 against the visiting Texans.
