We are back for another exciting season of making predictions on the college football schedule and we'll jump right into the deep end starting in week 4. There are a number of intruiging matchups on the week 4 schedule but the only game pitting top 25 teams against one another will be a late matchup between the #5 Stanford Cardinal and the #23 Arizona State Sun Devils. Unfortunately most of the top 25 teams are playing smaller schools as 40-point favorites so we'll avoid those matchups and make our week 4 predictions on games that shouldn't be total blowouts.
College Football Year-to-Date Record: 0-0
Tennessee at Florida -15
The Volunteers have struggled against some tough teamst his season but Florida simply has too many offensive line injuries to put up a high point total here. Look for Tennessee to keep it close.
West Virginia at Maryland -3.5
West Virginia has been extremely underwhelming this season but I don't have any faith in Maryland. The Terrapins don't excel on either side of the ball and I have to take the underdog while hoping they get their offense figured out.
Utah State at USC -7
This is a quality matchup between a team of incredible prospects who are poorly coached and a team of guys that weren't heavily recruited that play very well as a team. Utah State knows how to win games and I think Lane Kiffin's Trojans get embarassed at home.
Michigan State at Notre Dame -4.5
The Fighting Irish are not as strong defensively as they were last year and the offense isn't that impressive as you'd figure a Brian Kelly team would be. Michigan State has their share of problems to overcome as well and on the road in a tough environment I have to go with the favorite.
Arizona State at Stanford -6.5
The Cardinal don't have the incredible offense this year that they've possessed in the past and will struggle to stop the Sun Devils from scoring. This looks like an outright upset and Stanford is ranked far too high at #5.
Oregon State -7 at San Diego State
Storm Woods is out for Oregon State but his injury is receiving far too much attention. What really hurts Oregon State is the fact that they have no offensive line depth because of a ton of injuries and that will be enough for San Diego State to keep it tight.
Auburn at LSU -17
LSU should score at will against this defense and I don't think Auburn's offense is at a level just yet where they can keep up. Tigers by 30.
Kansas State at Texas -6
David Ash is back from his concussion and the Longhorns should be able to move the ball at will against Kansas State. That being said, their defense has been atrocious and Kansas State can score on them as well. Once again, go with the underdog.
Utah at BYU -7
This in-state rivalry game should be close throughout and I like Utah as the underdog. BYU is doing a nice job of moving the ball but Utah is above average in every facet and they've gotten great quarterback play that should keep them competitive.
