Part 3 of our college football bowl game predictions was the worst of the bunch thus far but when going 5-5 is as bad as it gets you know you are doing something correctly. It has been a fun college football season to spend with you all and we will aim to go out on a huge high note after another productive season. One again our college football production won't match the big numbers we put up yearly in the NFL but a winning record while attempting to make betting picks on every important game is nothing to frown about.
College Football Year-to-Date Record: 53-47-1
Bowl Game Record: 17-8
Oklahoma State -3 at Missouri
The Tigers were exposed a bit defensively against Auburn but Oklahoma State's defense is not as impressive. Missouri can score at will against most of these Big 12 defenses and I believe they'll win by double digits despite being listed as the underdog.
Clemson at Ohio State -2.5
Ohio State was exposed against Michigan State and easily could have lost against lesser squads while playing Wisconsin and Northwestern earlier in the season. The Tigers tend to choke in big games which makes them an iffy play here but I don't trust the Buckeyes' defense and will call for the underdog to win in a high-scoring affair.
Houston at Vanderbilt -2.5
It's tough to play a gimmicky offense like Houston against an SEC squad like Vanderbilt but that is the play to make. Houston is healthy and their defense is largely improved while Vanderbilt won't have their starting quarterback. This could be another Mississippi State versus Rice situation but I like the Cougars.
Arkansas State at Ball State -7
Ball State and Arkansas State are both capable of scoring big points and I don't believe either defense will be able to stop the opposing offense. That being said, Arkansas State lost their head coach for the third straight season and I have to question their motivation here. Go with the Cardinals to win big.
Auburn at Florida State -9
Florida State has looked great this season but you also have to realize they've played almost no one. Auburn has had defensive issues and will likely give up 40 points in the championship game but I trust Gus Malzahn and this offense to score 40 as well against just about anyone. Take the big underdog and look for a game that resembles the high-scoring clash between USC and Texas back when Vince Young was still around.
