2014 Team Needs: AFC East
By Matt Horkman

Buffalo Bills
One of the off-season’s marquee free agents, safety Jairus Byrd doesn’t seem likely to return to Buffalo in 2014. Finding a suitable replacement via free agency is possible, given the market’s strength at the position. Also on defense, Buffalo needs an outside linebacker to compliment Kiko Alonso. Offensively, they could use another tackle to compete on the right side, though they do have some intriguing in-house options. Finally, a stud tight end would go along ways in rounding out an offense that features several young pieces to build upon.

Team Needs: OLB, RT, S, & TE

Miami Dolphins
Fixing their offensive line is the No. 1 priority for Miami entering the off-season. The Dolphins allowed a league-high 58 sacks in 2014. Realistically, they could have four new starters along the offensive line with center Mike Pouncey being the only offensive lineman guaranteed his starting spot. If last year’s off-season was a prelude of things to come, you can expect Miami to pursue free-agent options aggressively in March. They’ll also utilize the draft. Adding a bell cow of a running back to replace the current committee of Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas would serve them well.

Teams Needs: OT, OG, & RBTom Brady

New England Patriots
No defensive coordinator is going to lay awake at night worrying about defending Julian Edelman. He’s also a free agent, though Danny Amendola is a strong in-house candidate to replace him. Finding Tom Brady a top-flight deep threat is New England’s top priority. The Patriots also need to get better in the trenches on both sides of the ball. A young nose tackle to groom behind Vince Wilfork could be a draft priority.

Team Needs: C, DT, RG, & WR

N.Y. Jets
The Jets should exploit all resources in upgrading their offensive skill positions. They also shouldn’t shy away from drafting or trading for a quarterback. For example, if they have an opportunity to draft Fresno State’s Derek Carr, then they should do it. Don’t settle for Geno Smith in 2014. Both guard spots need an examination. The team may still believe in Brian Winters, but right guard Willie Colon could leave via free agency and Vladimir Ducasse isn’t a good fallback plan.

Team Needs: OG, QB, TE, & WR
