It feels like week 6 should have produced better results than the 3-2 record we put together considering the upsets we correctly predicted. Our week 6 college football predictions had Ole Miss toppling Alabama as a 4.5-point underdog and for TCU to knock off Oklahoma at +4 odds. Both happened. We also called Auburn destroying LSU, but Stanford lost against Notre Dame, and Michigan State only won by five against Nebraska when they had to win by more than seven for our bet to cash. The Spartans were up 27-3 heading into the fourth quarter, but still found a way to lose it for us.
College Football Year-to-Date Record: 14-13
#13 Georgia Bulldogs -3 at #23 Missouri Tigers
The college football news is just breaking on Georgia running back Todd Gurley being suspended indefinitely, but I honestly don't feel it matters much. Missouri would have a great chance at knocking off the Bulldogs with or without Gurley. These two teams are very much alike. Take the Tigers at home in what should be a close game.
#2 Auburn Tigers -3 at #3 Mississippi State Bulldogs
Auburn's defense is much stronger than last year and their offense can score on anyone. I love Mississippi State, and as a home underdog, I'd usually take them. Ultimately, I'm not sure if anyone is beating Auburn this year. The Bulldogs will fight hard, but they are playing the best team in the country and will lose by seven.
#9 TCU Horned Frogs at #5 Baylor Bears -8
We loved TCU as an underdog last week and love them even more as a larger underdog against Baylor. Both Big 12 squads can put up huge points, but the Horned Frogs have a massive experience edge, and their defense is much better. The wrong team is favored here. TCU pulls another huge upset.
#12 Oregon Ducks -2 at #18 UCLA Bruins
UCLA is strong defensively but I don't trust their offense. Both teams have glaring weaknesses along the offensive line because of injuries, but I believe Maricus Mariota is better than Brett Hundley when it comes to handling the pressure. Take Oregon to re-establish Pac-12 dominance with a blowout win.
#4 Ole Miss Rebels at #14 Texas A&M Aggies -2.5
I pegged Ole Miss as a potential BCS Champion before the year started and we rode them to victory last week. The Rebels are simply better than Texas A&M is at every facet of the game. Taking Ole Miss in week 7 is one of the easiest bets you can make all year. Look for the Rebels to take out the Aggies by 20 or more in this lop-sided affair. The wrong team is favored yet again.
