It seems like we are destined to go 3-2 and 2-3 every single week of the season, although we did win some money in week 8 by going 3-2. We correctly predicted TCU would roll all over Oklahoma State, Kansas State would keep it close against Oklahoma, and that Notre Dame would give Florida State all they could handle. Unfortunately we whiffted on predicting Stanford to beat Arizona State and Texas A&M to keep it somewhat close against Alabama and are left with another week of just a small profit.
College Football Year-to-Date Record: 20-17
#3 Ole Miss -3.5 at #24 LSU
The Rebels still aren't getting enough respect. Their defense is probably the best in the country and their offense is much easier to trust than LSU's up-and-down unit. The Tigers are the home team and have experience in important games but Ole Miss is on a different level this year and should win by double digits in the last game all year where you'll get the team at this nice of a price.
#20 USC at #19 Utah -1
These Pac 12 rivals are very similar in that they play strong defense, move the ball well on the ground, and have the passing attack to complement the running game. Utah is at home but I do worry about their quarterback situation at times. The Trojans have a more reliable option at quarterback so I'll take the Trojans to pull off the upset in week 9.
South Carolina at #5 Auburn -19.5
Auburn is fresh off their first loss of the season and they should bounce back in a big way after the Mississippi State game. South Carolina has been a massive letdown this season and I don't see them moving the ball against the Tigers or having enough defensively to stop Nick Marshall and his teammates from putting the ball in the end zone. Look for a fired up Auburn squad on Saturday as the Tigers win by 30 or more.
Michigan at #8 Michigan State -17
This rivalry has been more anticipated in previous seasons when both teams were stronger, but that doesn't mean there isn't money to be made in 2014. Michigan State and Michigan both have nice defenses but the Spartans have proven they are much stronger when it comes to moving the ball. That being said, Michigan State's offense isn't anything better than average and 17 is a lot of points. Rivalry games are usually close so take the Wolverines to only lose by 8 or 9.
