Well, week nine didn't go well. The 2-11 record we put up was the worst of all-time during my three-plus years of doing NFL predictions. Absolutely nothing went right for us. The Washington Redskins blew a six-point lead in the fourth quarter as small favorites against the Minnesota Vikings, the New York Jets gave up a touchdown on a miracle play to blow the cover against the Kansas City Chiefs, and both the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals just missed covering the point spread. On the plus side, the Miami Dolphins keep winning us money. There's really only one way to go after a disaster like that, so we'll get right back at it with our week 10 predictions.
NFL Record Year-to-Date: 67-60-1
NOTE: There are no betting odds up on the game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Jacksonville Jaguars because of Tony Romo's injury. We will not be including a Cowboys/Jaguars prediction for week 10.
Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals -6
The Browns can't run since losing their starting center to injury and their defense won't be able to stop the Bengals with A.J. Green back at 100%. Take Cincininati.
Miami Dolphins at Detroit Lions -3
The Dolphins have been great to us thus far, but Detroit needs a win, and they finally have Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush healthy. Take Detroit to win by four at home.
Kansas City Chiefs -1.5 at Buffalo Bills
The Bills are undervalued again and should be able to win at home. Buffalo's defense is among the best in the NFL and their offense is finally moving the ball with Kyle Orton at quarterback. The wrong team is favored.
San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints -4.5
The 49ers have offensive line issues but New Orleans' defense isn't anything to worry about. This looks like a shootout and San Francisco should win outright.
Tennessee Titans at Baltimore Ravens -9.5
The Ravens are favored by a ton of points for a team without a defense, but it's tough to see them being beat too badly by a rookie quarterback. Take Baltimore to score a bunch while winning by 17 or so.
Pittsburgh Steelers -4.5 at New York Jets
Pittsburgh might be the most overrated team in football right now, while the Jets are the most underrated. The Steelers have no defense and New York is much better with Michael Vick at quarterback. I think the Jets win this game.
Atlanta Falcons -1 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Two awful teams here, but I'll take Tampa Bay to win at home. The Falcons don't play defense and have too many offensive line issues to be at their best.
Denver Broncos -11 at Oakland Raiders
I think the Broncos bounce-back in a big way with a huge win over a team that shouldn't be on the same field as them. Denver by 30.
St. Louis Rams at Arizona Cardinals -7
The Cardinals are another NFL team that is massively overrated, and I think their offense will struggle to move the ball here. Take St. Louis to keep it close in a low-scoring game.
New York Giants at Seattle Seahawks -9
I like the Giants, but they're dealing with too many injuries. Eli Manning and company won't be able to move the ball, so Seattle should cover the odds.
Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers -7.5
Don't count out the Bears. They're still capable of scoring a ton of points, and Green Bay's defense isn't anything special. The Packers should also score many points, but I like the underdog.
Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles -6
Philadelphia will turn to Mark Sanchez at quarterback, and he might be better than Nick Foles has been. Carolina's defense is very beatable this year. I think the Eagles win by at least eight.
