Our late comeback has fallen short and this will be the first time in 3 years that we have failed to churn out a winning record with our college football predictions. All we can do at this point is to try to go out with a bang on the GoDaddy Bowl and the National Championship Game happening over the next few days. It's been a fun ride and we'll make it a personal goal to come back strong from this embarrassment next season.
College Football Year-to-Date Record: 38-49
Toledo -3.5 at Arkansas State
Arkansas State has been through more turmoil than many programs have to deal with in a decade as they are on their 4th head coach in 4 years. That hasn't stopped the Red Wolves from winning and if anything has made them more mentally tough than other squads this season. Toledo in the past has been a team that has relied upon their offense to win games but they have displayed a strong defense this year. Arkansas State and Toledo are both capable of beating opponents with the run and the pass with the Red Wolves statistically a tick better on defense. I'll take the underdog here as I feel that Arkansas State is more of a tight-knit team than Toledo because of all they have gone through. Go with the underdog to win 35-34.
Ohio State at Oregon -7
The Buckeyes shocked the college football world when they beat Alabama but the final score differs a bit from reality. Ohio State benefited from numerous idiotic turnovers from Alabama and their defense still managed to give up quite a few points. Quite simply, if the Crimon Tide were more polished offensively they might have put up 60. Oregon is that team that is more polished offensively. The Ducks should be able to put up at least 40 here and it's tough to see Ohio State keeping up. The Buckeyes are capable of scoring big points in Urban Meyer's exciting offense but they are also on their 3rd quarterback of the season and Cardale Jones threw some ugly ducklings that really had no business going for big yardage in their win. Jones is still very raw as a prospect and in only his 3rd collegiate start it's tough to imagine he's going to be mentally prepared for a game of this magnitude. Oregon is experienced and matches up well against Ohio State and I think they'll win by numerous touchdowns on January 10th.
