Week 9 College Football Preview
By Jacob Brandwein

No. 11 Florida vs Georgia

Time/TV: 3:30 PM EST, Oct. 31 CBS

Outlook: The first game I'll examine for this coming week is an annual rivalry showdown in the SEC between the Bulldogs and the Gators. This looks to be an intriguing game as it usually is. The Bulldogs are coming off of an ugly win against Mizzou while the Gators had the week off as they lost a close one on the road to LSU. Despite the loss of quarterback Will Grier, the Gators still put up a strong fight in Baton Rouge. The loss of star running back Nick Chubb is a big loss to the Bulldogs and really hurts their ground game. This looks to be a defensive minded game and I give Florida the edge at the end of the day.

Florida 24 Georgia 16

USC @ California

Time/TV: 3:00 PM EST, Oct. 31 FOX

Outlook: This looks to be a pac 12 shootout in Berkley. The Trojans are coming off of a great win at home against Utah as they looked really good in all phases of the game. The Golden bears on the other hand are coming off of a terrible week last week against UCLA. The quickest way to look at this game: USC has the better defense and Cal can't stop a nose bleed. USC will make more stops when needed whereas Cal will struggle to stop the USC offense in timely situations; USC comes out on top.

USC 45 Cal 36

No. 12 Oklahoma State @ Texas Tech

Time/TV: 3:30 PM EST, Oct. 31 ESPN

Outlook: This looks to be an interesting matchup in the Big 12 as the Cowboys travel to Lubbock to take on the Red Raiders. If you like offense, then this is your kind of game. Both teams average 40 plus points per game. However, one difference is that the Cowboys' defense is among the best in their conference and even in the upper tier in the nation. Texas Tech will need to set the tone early by putting up points to put pressure on the Cowboys as well as using their homefield advantage to pull off the upset. However, I pick the Cowboys to win as they've been playing quality football and will make the neccessary defensive stops and their offense will exploit one of the nation's worst defenses.

Oklahoma State 52 Texas Tech 35

No. 19 Ole Miss @ Auburn

Time/TV: 12:00 PM EST, Oct. 31 ESPN

Outlook: The Rebels and Tigers will face off this coming weekend in what should be a competitve game. The Rebels played a great game last weekend and beat Texas A&M and shutting down their offense holding them to only 3 points. The Tigers have been struggling as they lost a high scoring affair against Arkansas 54-46. Auburn has been competitive but just have kept falling short. In order to pull off the upset, the Tigers will need to find ways to score on a stout Ole Miss defense and slow down Chad Kelly and their offense. Ole Miss will come out on top in this competitive game.

Ole Miss 27 Auburn 17

No. 9 Notre Dame @ No. 21 Temple

Time/TV: 8:00 PM EST, Oct. 31 ABC

Outlook: The site of college gameday and for good reason as this primetime battle features the Owls and the Irish. The Owls are off to an undefeated start and are having one of their best starts to a season in recent memory. The Irish, behind a strong defense and effective quarterback play of Kizer as well as one of the nation's best running games. The Owls will have their work cut out for them this coming week for they have not played a team of this caliber. Temple will need to slow down a balanced offense and find ways to score on a stout defense. Notre Dame will win big in this game they will be too much for Temple to handle.

Notre Dame 34 Temple 10

Last Week: 2-2

Season Record: 17-14
